Are you interested in performing meaningful clerical work? Can you type at a speed of 40 words per minute? If you answered yes to these questions, this Court Clerk position with the Division of Workers’ Compensation (DWC) may be for you.

Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) monitors the administration of workers' compensation claims and provides services to assist in resolving disputes with claims for workers' compensation benefits. DWC is seeking an individual who has experience in typing and clerical work. The court clerk will review incoming legal documents, screen and process case opening documents, pleadings, correspondence, and medical documents. Additionally, the court clerk will meet with the public to answer questions and assist with filing documents.

This position has flexibility to telework for two (2) days per week.

Working Conditions

This position is located at: 455 Golden Gate Ave. 2nd Floor,  San Francisco, CA 94102.

O ur offices and court are conveniently located in a modern high rise building close to BART and MUNI, within walking distance of Union Square and Hayes Valley shops and restaurants as well as the Twitter Building, which contains several healthy take-out restaurant choices. Telework available two (2) days per week. The OT(T) works in a smoke-free DWC Office under LED lighting, controlled temperature, quiet to moderate noise levels; equipped with cubicles computer, and other office equipment.

Special Requirements

  • The position(s) require(s) the ability to type at a minimum speed as designated on the Class Specifications (link available in the additional documentation section). You must obtain a valid typing certificate confirming your ability to meet the minimum typing speed, prior to being hired.
